On Saturday Hurricane Sandy’s death toll reached a staggering 110. Lives, homes, and memories were shattered by this natural disaster. The New York Subway system, New York Stock Exchange, schools, and other much needed facilities were all shut down causing financial and emotional mayhem. IHS Global Insight estimates that the total reconstruction will cost somewhere between $30-50 billion.
The financial burden is nothing compared to the emotional burden that the victims of Sandy have faced. What was once a pleasant suburban cul-de-sac, is now a deserted wasteland. Before and after images.
